About the series

The real-life setting of Steins;Gate is Akihabara, Tokyo. Self-proclaimed mad scientist Rintaro Okabe and his friends accidentally invent a device capable of sending messages to the past, and as their discovery starts rewriting history in dangerous ways they are drawn into a fight against a fateful outcome. The locations, including Radio Kaikan and the Electric Town Exit, are all real places within a few minutes’ walk of Akihabara Station. Tips for the walk

Radio Kaikan is both a location and a shop：The building from Episode 1 and the final episode houses figure and trading-card specialty shops, so you can move straight from photos to shopping.
Secondhand is the realistic option：The anime aired in 2011, so new merchandise is not stocked year-round. Secondhand and resale shops such as Mandarake Complex Akihabara are where the goods actually are.
Mornings are easier for photos：Chuo-dori and the Electric Town Exit get busy from midday into the evening, so mornings give you a better shot at framing things the way the anime does.
Short on time? Just the Electric Town Exit and Radio Kaikan：Both are right outside the ticket gates, two minutes apart. The pair takes about 15 minutes.
